How to increase the font size
- Go to the edit menu and choose 'Preferences.'
- A window will open up. On the left side of the window, click once on the word 'Fonts,' which is found under the 'Appearance' heading.
- Then, on the right side of the window, select a font size.
- Click on the 'O.K.' button.
- If the selections that you made are not adequate, then repeat steps 1- 4 and try other settings for the font sizes in step 3.

- Go to the View menu and choose 'Text Size.'
- If the selections that you made are not adequate, then repeat the first two steps until the text is large enough.
- An alternative is to hold down the Control key (Ctrl) and hit the plus key until the text is the correct size. Ctrl and the minus key decreases text size.

- Then, on the right side of the window, you can select the colors for the text, background, and links. If, for example, you prefer a black background with white text, click inside the button that is next to the word 'Text.' This will open up a window that allows you to click on the color that you want. Do the same for the button next to the word 'Background.' If you have a dark colored background, it will important to choose light colors for the link options.
- Finally, click in the check-box that says, 'Always use my colors, overriding document' and then click the 'O.K.' button.

- On the menu bar, go to 'View' 'Tools' and click on 'Internet Options.'
- Towards the bottom of the window that opens up you will see a button that says ' Colors...'. Click on this and another window will open up.
- There is a left and right side to this window. On the left side, there is a box that is checked that says, 'Use Windows' colors'. Uncheck this box.
- This will now activate the text and background buttons. Click inside the button that is next to the word ' Text.' This will open up a window that allows you to click on the color that you want. Do the same for the button next to the word 'Background.' If you have a dark colored background, it will be important to choose light colors for the link options, which are located on the right side of the window.
- Click on the ' O.K.' button that is located in this window. The window will close. Then, click on the ' O.K.' button that is located at the bottom of the remaining window.

- Look for a button called 'Colors.'
- When you click on the button, you will have options to change the text, background, and link colors.
