Hudsonic Org Transit Committees IRT #3, BMT L Train Line and The Livonia Avenue Walkway Bridge Improvement Suggestions. Page #2 Written by: Chairman The WEb"MAster Randy Hudson Topic: Suggestions To Improve MTA Fare Box Revenue Inside ENY and Brownsville. Construct A New Parking Lot and Reconstruct A Free Fare Transfer Zone For The IRT #3 Junius Street & Livonia Avenue BMT L Train Lines Stations. But Deirdre Parker, an MTA spokeswoman, said a recent survey of riders found that only 3,000 people transferred between the two stops in the morning peak, not enough to warrant a free-transfer area. Our current transfer point MTA daily fare box totals between the two stations are only off by 1,800 people compared to the NYC Broadway-Lafayette and Bleecker Street train stops in the Village, with 4,800 Notice how close the fare box figures are to warrant new construction of the Livonia Avenue Walkway Bridge. { See Sunday N.Y Times November 16 2003 News Article }
The picture above was taken as you exit out of The Livonia Avenue train station token booth house under the BMT L train line stop on Van Sinderen Avenue on the East New York side of the {LAWB} facing south. Notice the unfenced entrance of this dangerous lot area it is definitely a potential crime zone in the future. The unused area below the BMT L train line is the spot where I see a new potential parking lot area for the MTA to utilize. Cars could drive in near this entrance area, drive south towards New Lots Avenue and park in an empty space on the right of the lot. This vertical single file parking lot system with cars parking facing south, one of three proposed on the East New York side of the {LAWB} from New Lots to Liberty Avenues would increase the fare box revenue at The BMT L Livonia Avenue and The Junius Street IRT #3 train stations. It shall increase area economic development mainly stores relocating under the Livonia Avenue IRT #3 train line where present empty lots exist. The stores would bring high intensity lighting to the area, commerce would increase within the area east from Van Sinderen to Pennsylvania Avenues, pedestrian traffic and area security would come back to life. In one word "area revitalization" that could never have taken place unless you reconstruct the free fare transfer point at the {LAWB} first.
