NEWS 12 BROOKLYN CABLE TV NEWS ARTICLE

Good Day Everyone I hope your in good health, Our  ENY & Brownsville Brooklyn, community has a major transportation problem that needs addressing “IMMEDIATELY” ! Reporter Stacy Delacat From The News 12 Brooklyn Cable TV Program. Came out and interviewed residents and Chairman Randy Hudson of The Hudsonic Organizations IRT #3, BMT L Train Transit Committee On The Livonia Avenue Walkway Bridge [ LAWB ] Transfer Point Zone. We Thank News 12 for providing additional publicity coverage for us, and shining the spot light upon a 50 year old MTA unconnected train transfer point.

"SHAME ON YOU MTA " !

This is a classic David [ Hudsonic Org IRT #3 Community Transit Committee ] against Goliath [ The MTA ] Battle that we are going to win in the future, so join us ! Due to the large number of new housing built within our ENY & Brownsville Brooklyn, community since the 1990’s a lack of attention exists towards reorganizing our areas MTA mass transportation problems. The cart has been definitely been put before the horse and now its time for us to do away with the cart and horse entirely and redesign from the ground up what our community truly needs instead of letting others tell us, what we should settle for. With thousands of new residents, moving into our community on a daily basics. Many elected officials ride in cars everyday and really have no idea what daily commuters face on the train other than what they are told. Each train that leaves the New Lots Avenue station in the mornings is jam packed to the rafters like Sardines. Other passengers waiting along the line cannot get onto the train that has just arrived in the station. We have placed so much attention on building new homes and removing the homeless off the streets [Which is a good thing ] that planners totally forgot about improving the MTA train transportation system that would carry those new residents back and forth to work and school. The IRT #3 Train should have been extended to the Gateway Mall back in the early 1990's in ENY [Now Called Spring Creek] before any new home construction began so no new residents could complain. We must now realize our past mistakes and move like lighting to come up with a viable way of obtaining funding to improve our areas failing transportation system for residents to admire. I will be regularly sending out once a month e-mails, reminding elected officials of their obligation to thousands of residents who are waiting for their help and depending on us to correct current transportation inequities they experience on a daily basics. Please bear in mind the meeting held on Thursday 4/3/08 was organized to help the MTA find a quick funding solution to address our communities needs, and correct a 50-year-old transit problem that no one seams to know how to fix. The goal of the meeting is improving our local transit system, and achieving funding through elected officials who will give the acquired funds directly to the MTA hopefully within a one and a half year period or less new construction can begin ASAP. The meeting was about opening up communication, keeping the communication lines open and finalizing long-term construction commitments for reducing the green house effect and improving transportation. For the first time in 50 year’s Federal, NYS, NYC Government, Area Political Representatives, Community Activists and, MTA Officials should have come together to address a major transportation problem between ENY & Brownsville Brooklyn that would alleviate congestion within the East Brooklyn MTA System. As the world becomes conscious of the green house effect, higher gas prices, and global warming, we hope our meeting motivated them towards networking, finding new funding sources and come up with a long-term solution to address a serious problem. Our MTA signature petition is for a Third Express Track on The IRT # 3 Line between The New Lots and Utica Avenue Train Stations making one stop at the Junius Street Train Station [ LAWB ] to move more passengers in less time, and when the MTA has to do maintence work on one of the elevated IRT #3 tracks. Passengers will be able to take the express or local train down to the next station and be able to return on the other side within a reasonable amount of time. Presently when maintence is scheduled on the IRT #3 elevated tracks when one side of the track is closed down passengers have to wait for one train to go all the way down the track from New lots Avenue to The Utica Avenue Train Station in order to go back in the opposite direction when the train returns. Our outdated transit system also needs construction of Handicap Elevators on every train station along the elevated IRT #3 line and ON BOTH SIDES OF THE LAWB. We need a weatherproof enclosure over the entire LAWB Bridge and a park and ride parking lot that will help raise additional revenue for the MTA. The MTA did not want to connect the LAWB bridge because they felt the revenue stream was to small ? Like an Angel that needs wings to fly, ideas need daily work to bring dreams alive. Our vision of increased revenue can validate the reconstruction of the LAWB through utilization of vacant MTA land as park and ride parking lots ?  The MTA owns a lot of unused property in and around the LAWB and if their was a park and ride parking lot built, passengers would be able to park then board the trains to ride to their destinations.

If a park and ride parking lot was built, passengers would be able to drive in, and pay the parking lot attendant after parking and locking their own cars. Then could enter the MTA system pay once again from their metro cards and board the train. This viable solution resurrects under utilized vacant MTA lots and turns them into new MTA revenue streams. Making use of the unused space between the elevated beams underneath the BMT L Train line and reorganizing parts of the MTA rail yard on Junius Street between Livonia and New Lots Avenue the MTA would be able to take parts of the unused space, turn it around, and now the MTA will be able to find the extra money it needs in the fare box it states it could not find before to help speed up the reconstruction. The LAWB also needs to be split, into two separate walkways, so when someone wishes to walk over the bridge just to get to the other side their freedom to walk across the bridge is not in jeopardy. The LAWB, should be separated by a fence so pedestrians do not disturb transfering train to train commuting passengers on the same bridge so they do not have to walk the huge distance around the area just to get to the other side. We Need Construction of A Free Fare Transfer Point Zone NOW Through, The Livonia Ave Walkway Bridge [LAWB] Between, The IRT #3 Junius Street, and BMT L Livonia Avenue Train Stations Located In Brooklyn N.Y because the areas population has grown 10 fold being that immigrant families live doubled up inside of one family houses. Our meeting should determine the outcome from years of dedication and commitment from community residents and committee members to meet our community’s long-term transportation needs. It’s a win, win situation for everyone, our community wins by getting a third express track, the LAWB rebuilt, handicap elevators and The MTA wins by gaining an additional yearly revenue stream of hundreds of thousands of dollars as a down payment on a long term investment from park and ride customers. Ladies and Gentlemen in a world that is getting harder by the day to live in and negotiate when elected officials left our meeting, “We hope” ! They do not forget that hundreds of thousands of area residents from Brooklyn N.Y are counting on them to do the right thing and everything in our power to find new funding sources to update an outdated transit system in east Brooklyn that should have never been forgotten, " over 50 years ago ”!

Outcome of the meeting

On Thursday April 3, 2008, we held our transit committee meeting but MTA representatives did not show as well as some of our local elected leaders. We are living in the days of high gas prices, some people are selling their cars because they cannot afford them anymore and more and more people are getting back on the MTA iron horse just to survive. The cart was put before the horse when rebuilding new homes inside of East New York and Brownsville Brooklyn. No elected official representing ENY or Brownsville should have missed our meeting but some of them did. We expected the MTA not to show up but I cannot forgive any local East New York or Brownsville Brooklyn elected official for not attending to help us find a way towards resolving one of the most important issues facing East Brooklyn residents today. Call or send your East New York and Brownsville Brooklyn elected leaders a U.S Mail Letter or an e-mail demanding that they get on board with our  IRT #3, BMT L, LAWB reconnection plan. Please bookmark our site, tell your friends about what you read here and view our LAWB Video.

BMT L, and The IRT # 3 Train Straphangers Demand NYC MTA Upgrades

[ SEE IRT 3, LAWB  LIVE NEWS 12 BROOKLYN CABLE TV VIDEO

BROWNSVILLE - Thousands of Brownsville and East New York commuters complain that taking mass transit in their neighborhoods is a costly headache.

The 3 train runs above the L train at Livonia Avenue, where straphangers say a sign that promises an "overpass" to get from one to the other actually involves a two-block walk.

"You have to totally come out of the train station, go downstairs, go back on the street and climb back up afterwards," says a commuter. Another straphanger added that they still have to pay two fares.

Frustrated resident Randy Hudson started a community council and has collected 6,000 signatures to hopefully nudge the MTA into making upgrades. "We need handicapped elevators because there are a lot of physically challenged people within the community," Hudson says.

Hudson also says that they pay subway fares like everyone else, but Manhattan seems to consistently get the most transit improvements. The MTA declined to comment on the claim.

With the defeat of Mayor Michael Bloomberg's congestion pricing plan in Albany Monday, it's possible that many promised upgrades across the city won't come to fruition anytime soon. The city lost $354 million in federal funding when state lawmakers failed to pass the plan that would have charged drivers $8 to enter Manhattan below 60th Street during certain times. Truck drivers would have paid $21.

Their is so much mistrust in our neighborhoods today that most people think that everyone in the world is corrupt and is looking, just to rip them off. I built this site to provide information so your quality of life will surpass mine. It took me year's to find out some of the same information that you are now reading about just because no one that I knew or met knew anything about " The Business of America, Is Business and if you pay attention you'll be able to find out a lot of short cuts that took me year's to find out just because I did not know anyone. First of all education is everything, but going to school, reading it in a book and applying what you read many times doesn't go exactly the way the book told you it would. When you get your credit card, don't use it for buying a whole lot of clothes, and spending it on crazy parties. Their will be time enough for that later if you use them for making money and I don't mean for selling drugs or doing something illegal. The prisons are filled with stories of people using their credit cards to buy and sell drugs in the hood. I know you heard the what I had stories, the if I only didn't do this story, and the if I only didn't do that story. If you keep on reading my " What's New Page " it shall lead you to alot of business seminars in and outside of the NYC 5 Borough's that shall lead you to major business seminars, networking meetings etc. Many people might say ha, reading is to much work, doing business in the street, I can sell such and such and make even more on the illegal side, but is it worth the life long headaches you'll go through afterward? One former drug dealer that grew up in my housing project said to me when he got out of prison that he wished that he never sold drugs because, when he got busted his daughter was only 2 weeks old. He had to do 10 year's in jail and when he came out of jail he told me that he wished he never dealt drugs because when he got out of jail he went back to his former girl friend who never went to see him just sent him pictures while in jail when he went to see his daughter. When the door opened he recognized his daughter from the pictures his former girl friend sent him while he was in prison and he smiled opened his arms and called out her name when he saw her, " Hi Jenny Come To Daddy "! Now by this time his daughter had bonded with his former girl friends new man, and when he called out " Hi Jenny Come To Daddy " ! Jenny said your not my Daddy this is my real Daddy over here, I don't know who you are mister ! He told me that his whole world turned up side down and no matter what he does today he can never forgive himself because he is now sterile due to his present illness and cannot regain bonding with his daughter in the way he would like it to be. So see fast money not only burns through the pockets faster ? They burn through the heart, the soul even faster and hurts a lot longer in the future. He said I will never ever sell drugs again because it has truly, " wrecked my life " !  " GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER START YOUR OWN  BUSINESS TODAY, AND STOP BEGGING FOR A JOB " !

GET A TAX WRITE OFF

AS DOCTORS HELP AFRICA WITH SURPLUS MEDICAL SUPPLIES THROWN OUT BY US HOSPITALS - GIVE DOC 2 DOC $5.00 AND $100.00 WORTH OF MEDICAL SUPPLIES ARE SENT TO AFRICA. GREAT IDEA = IT'S A WIN, WIN SITUATION

It may look like a regular garage, but inside some amazing journeys are beginning to take shape.

Dr. Bruce Charash, a cardiologist at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, says he was inspired to take action after seeing the amount of unused medical supplies thrown out at U.S. hospitals every day.

“In the range of 7,000 tons a day of medical supplies are thrown out that could be reused or have never been used, and that's a stunning amount,” says Charash.

In 2005 he started a non-profit called Doc to Dock as a commitment to the Clinton Global Initiative.

The group connects the surplus of supplies that are either incinerated or sent to landfills to those who need them. They ask physicians, nurses, and dedicated volunteers to collect and redistribute the supplies, excluding medication, to hospitals and patients in Africa.

Donations to the group are used to send the supplies, and Dr. Charash and his team travel to the countries they serve to show them how to use the products they send.

“If you give us $5.00, we deliver $100.00 of supplies to Africa, because we are collecting expensive things that would otherwise be discarded,” says Charash. “We have gotten hundreds and hundreds of calls of people wanting to give us a wheelchair or a walker or some gauze. It's been really heart warming.”

Whether you end up giving money or medical supplies, Dr. Charash says the return is really two-fold.

“We are what's called a 501 -C3 charity, which means we are a non-profit organization. All gifts to us are tax deductible,” says Charash.

Lisa Heller, a certified public accountant, says that documentation is what makes the difference when it comes to getting that tax deduction.

“In order to claim any charitable donation, you need to have either a receipt from the charity or some other kind of bank record, such a as a cancelled check, a credit card slip, or an account statement of some kind,” says Charash.

She says many people donate to charity because they want to give back, but they also should know that as long as the charity is recognized as a 501c3 there are tax advantages.

“If somebody makes, let’s say for an example, $60,000 a year, and they donate $1,000 to a valid charity, their tax, and assuming they itemize their deductions, their tax is going to be based, not on the $60,000, but on $59,000 which is $60,000 minus the $1,000 charitable contribution,” says Heller.

While the tax deduction does save you money, Charash says New Yorkers biggest goals are to give from the heart.

“I think it’s a duty we have,” says Charash. “Many people share that feeling. We have seen an incredible outpouring of generosity ” !
