I don't want to live anywhere else in this universe
other than NYC The Big Apple. I love to travel, and regularly fly out of NYC and when I do leave NYC and go any where else in America
fly abroad into a foreign country. You then realize what you really had back home in good old Brooklyn N.Y.
You only have to walk maybe one or two blocks to a
Grocery Store which open early and close late. You don't have to go out each day and wait
in the bushes for hours to shoot your dinner as it runs by, clean drinking water
just turn on the tap and you don't have to walk a mile and carry a bucket
back home full of water on your
head Shopping malls are close by you can shop at night or over the internet compared to street mall vendors disappearing at sun down, and
you also have the security of knowing if it is made anywhere on this earth, you can bet you can find it right here in good old NYC
or some where close by if you live inside of the USA.!
Like James Brown The God Father of Soul Use To Say,
"
Owl, Hit May " !
But their is one thing that
I don't like that seems to rear its ugly head over, and over again and never seems to ever disappear or fall asleep forever inside of any urban American city across the country, and that is the shootings of innocent
unarmed young African and Hispanic Americans.
I'am not a racist but strange, how you don't hear about
unarmed white people getting shot, why is that. I
have lived through the 1950's and the 1960's the racist times where all NYC Police Officers were white
and moved here from the south into NYC and other urban
metropolitan city areas because of the high pay they
were offering. What I felt deep down inside for year's
but could not verify was verified when I was watching an
HBO Cable TV Documentary Special Called " The Bastards
of The Black Panther Party ". On that film there was the
California Police Commissioner I can't remember his name
but, their he was on HBO Video stating that The
California Police Department directly recruited Police
from the southern states. Unemployment was high
throughout the southern states and urban Police
Departments had many vacant positions that needed
filling immediately plus wages were higher than down
south Police Departments and The new Police would
basically be given a free hand at controlling and
maintaining the urban " NIGGER POPULATION " ! All USA
Police Departments always talk to each other to improve
Policing throughout America and you can bet if Police in
LA were doing it ? It is only natural to suspect that
The NYC Police Department was recruiting Police Officers
from the southern states too. I always wondered when I
was younger why so many Police Officers when they spoke
to us had those heavy southern accents and would talk to
us while chewing tobacco saying " HEY BOYY ", " WHAT YOU DOING THERE BOY "
GET OVER HERE NIGGER " country accents
with no respect for man, women or barking Dogs in the
neigh " HOOD " !
I had no idea that the term, The Police " PATTY WAGON ", was a racist term
until The Reverend Herbert Daughtry [ Whom I Love and Respect ] used it on TV
one day and had a mega media backlash against him stating that he used a racist term on TV,
" well I'll be darned " ! Everyone in the African American community has always used
the term " PATTY WAGON ", when ever the Police arrested someone, I learned the term from hearing the adults in the community using it who called
the jail truck The " PATTY WAGON " and I never knew that the term " PATTY WAGON " was a racist term until The Reverend Herbert Daughtry used it on TV and
had the media backlash against him, Ha, Ha, Ha-aaaa, Ya learn something new
every day ha ! I like the Reverend he believes in what he is doing
and I believe in him but, The Reverend Herbert Daughtry in no way is a racist he
unknowingly like myself learned the word from our elders and just kept on using it like me thinking that The term " PATTY WAGON ", was the
correct name for the
Police Jail Truck at that time. The term I now learned from the elders was used to slap the racist
White Police Officers back in the face because we were all powerless to do anything
against them but run our mouths. You have just been educated and now can clearly see how racism does start in the neighborhood
without you even knowing it, just by
following what the elder adults say and do, when you are young thinking that they must know the right things to say and do in a clean young mind, you have no idea that you are really
being brain washed with some of their adult prejudice ways,
means, and terms that adults use daily which are counter productive to the American dream which detracts from adding new chapters of equality and opportunity for all.

I personally knew three different friends that I grew up with that were shot dead by NYC Police in my ENY
Brooklyn Cypress
Hills Housing Project neighborhood in cold blood and they were all unarmed. Their names were, ELLIOT MERCADO,
who was Hispanic a guy I always hung out with on a regular basics who lived in my building on my floor
a neighbor for and friend of mine for over 25 year's, JEFFERY MOORE who also lived in the front of the projects
shot dead because he was a member of The Black Panther
Community Activist Party Organization trying to do right
thing helping seniors and other residents within
the community, RANDOLPH EVANS,
who lived in the back of the projects who's
brother BUTCHIE EVANS went to F.K. Lane High School with me, on a daily
basics, we regularly hung out together and I personally knew his entire family
and Randolph was a person that never missed classes and
was extremely educated, did not hang out with gangs and,
was unarmed when he was shot dead. All three were gunned down by NYC Police Officers
and none of my friends were ever involved in a robbery, had a Police record, threatened an officers life, or were carrying a gun or knife when they
were shot dead. None of the guilty officers ever spent a day in
jail, have atoned for their sins,
or even said that they were sorry to the family's for shooting their sons
and no Police Officer ever went to " Jail " to answer for
crimes committed against
" THE
HOOD " !
[
[ [ " SAY WHAT " ] ]
]
Yes its real and, still going on today inside of NYC.
Police Officals never like to admit that their Police
Officers are human too, and once in a while they too do make
mistakes by shooting incident unarmed residents, problem is so many
innocent people are getting killed and it starts to look
like The NYC Police Department is trying to eradicate all
African and Hispanic Americans off the face of the earth completely.
[
[ [ " SAY WHAT " ] ]
]
I know that
this is not the case, but it sure looks that way from mine and alot of other peoples eyes. You can't revive someone who is dead but it would be nice to hear The Mayor of NYC get on
Radio or TV and say that a mistake
has been made, but we all know because of the legal issues involved this will never happen especially when The Mayor is doing his best
with a sad face at convincing the family not to sue NYC
for damages. They say history never repeats itself, well I know of a number of cases where it has and continuously does repeat itself
where careless and non responsible Police Shootings, having no visible guilty party
to point to but some how,
this type of unwanted history always seams to repeat it self over, and over again
like a bad nightmare dream that will not stop. The innocent
unarmed people that were shot
dead, did not shoot themselves like the police would like us to believe in November 2006 once again a young African Americans life
Sean Bell was snuffed out
and get this, it all happened on the day he was to get married, what a bummer. The now deceased Shawn Bell
picture here with his soon the be wife and daughter
lived in Queens N.Y and unwittingly this shooting
incident has turned Ms. Sean Bell into the new Rosa
Parks of our time, think about it and watch how this
incident turns into a national movement ! A list should
be organized and sent into Rev Al Sharptons NYC Office
showing just how many unarmed Black and Hispanic men and
woman from across the USA. Were shot dead by Police
during an incident where the victims were not involved
in a robbery, had no knife, no gun, were not involved
with gangs and were not involved selling drugs but were
killed no less just because they ethic background were
African or Hispanic and they were in the wrong place at
the wrong time ! What is the code for a college trained
Police Officers too follow ? How many bullets should be
shot after a Police Officer feels he or she's life is in
danger ? How many shots should be shot before the Police
Officer re-surveys the scene ? 50 shots, now that's
excessive and shows the possibility that the Police
Officer might have been hearing his fellow Police
Officers guns ringing out and continued to fire thinking
that the perpetrator [ Unarmed Victim ] was continuing
to fire at them or worst the Police Officer could have
been been drunk or the Police Officer could have been on
drugs. No Commanding Police Officer even thought of
doing an alcohol or drug test on the Police Officers
that were involved in the shootings ? These are
questions that need answering and should be brought
before the NYC Police Commissioner because their is no
use of force codes that I know of governing the use of
force for Police Officers when they shoot unarmed
citizens, none that I can think of, do you know of any
? I have the same nightmares that each young African and Hispanic American male today lives with
no matter the age in every small and major city across
America on a day to day basics. I live in NYC and fear being gunned down
on a daily basics by N.Y City's Finest Bullets,
Distributed in the neighbor " HOOD " by
our own peace keeping force, " The NYC Police Department " !
[
[ [ " SAY WHAT " ] ]
]
On Friday May 2, 2008 the verdict in the The Sean
Bell case was finally announced. All three of the NYC Police
Officers were set free. I knew deep down inside that The
NYC Justice System once again would not do the right thing.
It brought back bad memories of my three
personal friends Elliot Mercado, Randolf Evans,
and Jeffery Moore once again who were all unarmed and
murdered by NYC
Police Officers and those Police Officers did not go to
jail either ! Yes The BIG TIME BIZ WEbMAster was almost killed too, twice as a matter
of fact and you can bet if I was shot dead ? The
Police Officers who would have shot me dead ? Would have
not gone to jail either.
[
[ [ " SAY WHAT " ] ]
]
Yes our country's answer to an unarmed African
or Hispanic man or woman being shot dead no matter what
gender or age
they are is ? Non indictment of the Police Officers
involved that
did the shootings, their remedy to the shooting is ? Allowing
the family to sue
the City, State or Federal Government for money damages
and all will be forgiven. I really do not have much
faith presently in the NYC, State, or Federal Legal
Justice System their are double standards all over this
place especially when it comes down to convicting Police
Officers for shooting unarmed
civilians. I truly believe, and I hope
that I'am proved wrong in the case of Sean Bell against
the accused Police Officers. That The
Federal Government
will finally convict the Police Officers that fired the 50
shots at unarmed
citizens. I truly feel deep down inside that the Federal Government
will up hold the NYC Sean Bell Court Case Decision and not convict
any of these
Police Officers at all why ? My personal feelings are
that all local and USA State Police Departments are already having a
hard time trying to recruit new Police Officers across
the country and. If they presently convict any Police
Officer that shoots an unarmed civilian doe it might
have been a mistake ? The Government
feels they will have fewer Police Officers signing up in the
future for the Police Force and the possibility exists
that no one will want to make a full career of becoming a
new Police
Officer in the future for fear of going to jail just because they shot
an unarmed civilian who they thought, had a gun ! My
opinion is, because the Government feels it may lose
control over society and the destabilizing factor that
exists in the
USA at present. With less Police Officers its the prime
reason why Police Departments and Courts of Justice across the
country, do
what they do, but I could be wrong this is just my
personal opinion ! Its just one of
those strange feelings that I have deep down inside of me that
keeps on coming back in my mind over and over again !

Below Are The
NYC Police Officers That Shot Sean Bell

Update After
The Sean Bell Trial
May 7, 2008 In NYC

Rev Al Sharpton and NYC Councilman Charles Barron
and Ms Sean Bell
Got
Arrested On Wednesday May 7, 2008 In NYC
I missed being at the side of Martin Luther King, I
missed being at the side of Malcom X, but I did not miss
The Rev Al Sharpton, The Rev Herbert Daugherty, and I did not miss being at
the side of NYC Councilman Charles Barron. No I could not
make the NYC Police shooting boycott rally in Manhattan NYC on Wednesday May
7, 2008 but the night before I personally met with and spoke
with NYC
Councilman Charles Barron at his local ENY Brooklyn Office
as he told the audience in attendance that he would be
going to jail the very next day because of huge civil
disobedience rally they organized taking place
throughout Manhattan inside of NYC. So I hugged him, wished him
Gods Speed, and Good Luck. It was one of those rare
eerie moments in time few experience, where time really
did stand still to me. Because I already knew when I
shook Charles Barrons hand as he left me, now having
advanced knowledge of what would happen tomorrow as he
walked away from me, even doe he was not dead yet. I
already knew what tomorrow would bring, even before the
sands of time fell in the hour glass. As Charles walked
from me I knew he was on the road towards greatness
stamping a true mark of dignity to be left in the pages
of history for the future. I watched with a tear of
pride in my eye until I could see him no more, as he
walked away, faded, and blended into the night !
Yes their is no dought, The Rev Al Sharpton, The Rev Herbert
Daugherty, and NYC Councilman Charles Barron are the
new Martin Luther King and Malcom X Brothers during our
era. Fighting on the front line for equal rights as they
march through
the muddy civil right trenches from NYC, across America
re-correcting time and not just sitting back providing
lip service
and shooting the breeze.

Somebody Scream " OwL " !
" Heart Beat
", " Heart Beat ",
" Its The
Pride " !
Yes, NYC Councilman Charles Barron has continuously sponsored our
SHOWSTOPPER Basketball Tournaments for over six year's
straight.
Many African, Hispanic and White community activists
together march down the same trail hand in hand that Martin
Luther King and Malcom X cut through the jungle back in
the 1960's. I now have many historical stories to tell my grand kids
in the future when they sit on Grand Pa's lap, as their
mouths drop open, their eyes widen and say to me ? Oh-oooooo,
Grand Pa, You really knew Rev Al Sharpton, The Rev Al, Rev
Daugherty, and NYC Councilman Charles Barron Grand Pa, ?
I can feel proud, look them back in their eye and say, yes
I shook their hands, hugged and talked with them as they moved
through the hour glass on the sands of time, together we
left foot prints on beach called equal rights as the sparkling silver dust
landed between our feet, history was made but not on our minds. I
presently have no kids, but I do dream of the day I can
tell my grand kids these stories of pride and dignity as
great rocking chair memories in the future. Yes with my
golden seal of bragging rights of tales and whoa's coming straight out of The
book of Martin Luther King and Malcom X in the struggle
for equal
rights I pass them down like my ancestors did as, family
jewels ! I will proudly tell my Grand Kids how I
participated in the continued struggle on the front line
for equal rights as I took the mike and spoke at
different Showstopper Tournaments, our Cultural
Entertainment Shows and at other community meetings
throughout the community, opening eyes and passing on
the message I learned from our committed leaders on the
front line for all Americans in the muddy trenches of
NYC since 1973.
Remember the Police shooting protest on May 7, 2008 Inside NYC
was about gaining equal rights for all not just for
African and Hispanic Americans. If an unarmed White Man
was shot 50 times would you call that necessary force
when he had no gun ? Where the Police involved, went to
the court, faced a Court Judge who was a retired NYC
Police Officer, and
the judge on the bench could make up his mind about the
case without consulting anyone and felt that the Police
Officer/s involved were not
guilty by judging the case upon his own past experiences
on the street as a former NYC Police Officer would you
say that was a fair trial ? Plus I thought in a court of
law one was supposed to be judged by a jury of their peers,
would you call this a fair trial ? This court case
reminds of the type of law administrated in third world
countries and should never happen in America. This
proves once again that their are two court justice
systems in America. This court case reminds me alot
of gambling with loaded dice or being telepathic. All
African and Hispanic Americans throughout this country
already knew the verdict even before it was ever spoken
if it was a stock sole on Wall Street you could have bet
your whole house and came away a winner. Every African
and Hispanic American could read the verdict inside the sealed envelope even
before it was
opened,
" NOT GUILTY " ! Strange how Judge Arthur Cooperman
after giving the verdict in the courtroom, Got the hell
out of Dodge [NYC], and retired forever
after he left the bench on that faithful day ! If you
were not present inside of NYC on the day the verdict
was read. A Pig pen finally smelled like perfume
compared to the aroma that you could smell coming from
out the court house window where Judge Arthur Cooperman
presided. The court verdict stunk as it moved through
the atmostsphere spreading throughout NYC on the
faithful day !
Even a blind can
see that,
" THIS COURT CASE WAS FIXED " !
" RIGHT FROM
THE BEGINNING " !
I would stand up and say that it was wrong even if it
was a White Man that had got shot 50 times. But this case is not
about the shooting of an innocent White Man its about
the continues killings of unarmed African and Hispanic
Americans its about African and Hispanic Americans obtaining a fair an impartial
jury trial when something like this happens. I shall
tell my Grand Kids how I met and
participated in the struggle for equal rights as a proud
" Free African American " Since the 1970's in
the Greatest City N.Y In The Greatest Country on the face of the earth ! I
applaud what Rev Al Sharpton, The Rev Al, Rev
Daugherty, and NYC Councilman Charles Barron are doing.
It takes back bone to stand up out of the crowd when
everyone else around you is whispering to each other,
waving at you, and telling
you to sit down as you speak out. For those of you that
might believe in racism both The Rev Al, Rev Daugherty,
and Councilman Charles Barron are Like Spike Lee Say's "
DOING THE RIGHT THING " we just want equal rights that's
all. Continuously Africans and Hispanics are denied what
all White Americans take for granted, justice and equal rights. I'am
not a racist I know many great white people and love
them all and if Black People were ruling the world and the
tables were turned denying White People of their equal
rights ? I would stand up and speak out against that to !
Every two - three year's in Brooklyns
ENY Section a
new commanding police officer opens up shop at the 75th Precient. Our
75th Precient changes Commanders like we change tee shirts
no one stays around for five years or more getting to
fully know our community residents. Precient Commander Inspector Mr David .P. Barrere
since October 2006 has taken over a Precient that has a long track record and
bad reputation of racism and abuse inside of ENY, he might be a nice guy and
a great commander but
he is powerless to stop any bad situation from turning into a major incident on the streets
if the beat Officer ? Does not give a damm ! The only way the commander could ever have full control over his beat officers is when NYC eventually utilizes I-Robots.
Even with the I-Robots patrolling the street one could
short circuit and go bezerk shooting unarmed civilians.
But I feel its
the only way to establish full control over an officer that might have gone bad especially after an officer shoots an innocent resident fifty times their is no reason on earth that
an officer can give to you or explain away why he had to shoot, reload and keep on firing at a resident
who was unarmed in the first place. Only then could a Precient Commander say to the public on Radio and TV that the Officers I-Robot computer chip
short circuited, failed, or was now outdated and needed
to be replaced.
Their are many great Police Officers out their on the job and at the same time their are many underhanded and disrespectful officers still lurking within our community
presently who on an ongoing basics
create confusion, and mistrust for our NYC Police Department who deal with and who willingly harass community residents just because they have a badge and a gun with no respect for anyone but themselves
and also give NYCPD its bad name, and bad reputation. Some
of the Police Officers after locking up so many criminals believe that every young African and Hispanic Male in our community is guilty even before seeing a judge just because
they think it is so. I have personally met those types of officers too in my own community. I interact with the community affairs division of the ENY 75th and Brownsvilles 73rd Precients when ever I have to file for an event permit or need their assistance
to provide exterior security for major community meeting so things do not get out of hand. The majority of Police Officers honestly really want to help people in distress and
then their are those that want to create confusion and who are the closet racist both African and White Police Officers.
Back In 1971 inside of my ENY Cypress Hills Housing Project I too had a close call
with death involving The NYC Police Department. I was hanging out with two of my life long friends Rubin Fleary, and Bumpie both lived within the same housing project that I
lived in, all of us were just hanging out one Saturday, having fun when officer Manny a plain clothes off duty Police Officer felt like dealing out some street corner justice on his own to the
"wrong people" ! Officer Manny started something that would back fire like a exploding firecracker in his face after the scuffle ended. Officer Manny felt he did not have to
identify himself first to us as
we were standing their hanging out inside of the hallway with our backs up against the wall. Officer Manny was off duty at the time when he came downstairs from his cousin Ruth
Rivera's house on the seventh floor. We all saw the them come into the building Mr. and Mrs. Rivera and Officer Manny. I said hello the married couple The Rivera's
[Mannys relatives] as I always did when they passed us
in the hallway lobby as the three of them walked up the steps and disappeared in the elevator. Ten minutes later Officer Manny came back down alone angry about something. It was Saturday
and that morning I had asked to borrow my brother Michaels new green leather jacket for the first time, my brother was never ever involved in any type of trouble. They
say, all
African American males look alike and because I had on my brothers green jacket on, when Officer Manny passed us and saw me in the green jacket when he returned asking no
questions he immediately accused us of molesting his cousin Ruth during the week. None of us ever saw Officer Manny before in our life time and we all thought he was just plain crazy
and we knew nothing
about what he was accusing us of as he approached us with a drawn Jim Booie hunting knife. Officer Manny then proceeded to walk closer and slash at us with his knife
saying I know you guys did it, " I just know you did it " , and now you are going to pay for what you did ! The only people in the hood at that time that got shot or stabbed,
were the people that were out there robbing people and doing wrong out on the streets and all of us had full time day jobs back then. When Officer Manny hit my life long best friend Rubin Fleary, I just lost it. I reached over
my friends Bumpies shoulder and punched him in the mouth while he
was moving toward and still hitting Rubin in the mouth while he still had
the knife out in the other hand, then we all jumped him together after I hit him, a gun fell out of his holster from underneath his coat and skid across the floor of the hallway. All of us froze
instantly in place, it was only one thousand of a second that
went by but it seemed a lot longer than that when you are in a life and death battle for your life. Before the gun could stop sliding across the floor, all four of us leaped
towards the gun on the floor together at the same time. I was the closest to the gun so I dove towards the gun on the floor and lucky for Officer Manny, he got his hand on
the gun first, if I would have got to the gun first
? I definitely would
have shot him dead no question about it and not knowing at the time that he was an Official NYC Off Duty Police Officer, we all thought he was just a mad man going crazy on us and each of us were
truly fearing for our lives at that point. Some how he got to the gun first,
it was definitely his lucky day because police officers did not wear bullet proof vest back in those days, and I definitely would have shot him cold in the chest, if I had gotten to the gun
first. I need you to understand this, I have never been a violent man, never
did any jail time, I believe in clean living have high morals was brought up in church, graduated from high school got an AA degree from college and was an "A" student while in school, held
down a regular day job and
had been sponsoring local ENY Family Day Events Each Summer for the whole community to enjoy at no charge to residents inside of The ENY Cypress Hills Housing Projects, Euclid
Avenue Park location since 1969. Each year I organized and sponsored the community event bringing in The famed 107.5 WBLS Radio Stations JAMM VAN With Radio Personality DJ
Vaughn Harper and The SURESHOTS Basketball Team each year for our event. I had been sponsoring these event's for over 2 year's at that time before I met Officer Manny the
unidentified rogue off duty Police Officer who came into our lives and assaulted us without
provocation. I almost got my head blown off that day, my whole life flashed before my eyes as I looked down his gun barrel back in March of 1971. The case was thrown out of The
Brooklyn Criminal Court directly because he had the wrong people period. Plus he had no witnesses to prove his side of the story. The witness his cousin Ruth that
lived on the seventh floor in my building, a person I knew and who lived in the building for over eight year's and she was a person I said good morning to and spoke to every time I sever
saw her
and her husband together in the elevator or on the street they both were so embarrassed and ashamed of what had happened Ruth refused and never appeared in the court room that day.
When Ruth found out who Manny was assaulting, Neighbors told me that, she cried and said that I was not the one that molested her ! Over 600 people from Cypress Hill Projects came down
on our behalf
to the court room trail on the court date because everybody in the hood that lived
inside of my ENY Cypress Hills Projects at that time knew who I was, knew who I hung out with and, just knew I could never ever do anything like what the police officer stated.
I heard after, each time The Rivera's stepped out of the building [ I had nothing to do with the way the residents felt after the incident happened nor did I tell them to
do bodily harm their family ] the residents basically ran them out
of the project. They moved two months after the incident happened directly because people began throwing bottles at them every time they exited the building.
Bullets have no names or explanations why they hit you, being nosey, ratting on someone and sometimes minding your own business when a Police Officer is around, can be very dangerous to your health where I come from.
But in order to sponsor events where the public will be in attendance. NYC law clearly states that it is mandatory that you notify The NYC Police Department a month ahead of
time before the event date begins or your event will be shut down immediately because you did not possess a valid permit on the event date. I did not make up the NYC government rules, but if you want to be a player in the game of life
inside of NYC and sponsor positive events within
your own community, their are rules you have to abide by in order to sponsor a local event date. You have no choice in the matter organized and secure activity plans with a volunteers or paid security force is the rule of the day, all papers must be filed through The NYC Police Department community affairs division.
I feel I have met NYC's Finest, and most of them work within The Community Affairs
Division which I think is the best Police division in the entire NYC Police Department because they are not like your everyday street beat officers they have a more human quality
about them and I personally feel they really do care about our community playing big brother and sister to many kids that have no Fathers and Mothers home and need help no matter
what the color of their skin is.
Many people who live in suburban communities can not understand how minding your own business when a NYC Police Officer is around can be dangerous to your health.
The Police have a very hard job to do sometimes they are, " DAMMED IF THEY DO ", AND SOMETIMES, DAMMED IF THEY DON'T " ! If you don't know, then let me enlighten you, if your an African or Hispanic male, from 12 year's old and up chances are you could be harassed, arrested without an incident occurring that you were personally involved in and knew nothing about. You could be jailed, or even shot dead on the spot just for moving to fast when asked to stop while walking, or being in the wrong place at the wrong time. These are the fears that every young and old African and Hispanic Male lives with each and every day in the empire city and
in other urban cities across America. The prison industry is one of Americas largest employers entire communities can spring up almost over night from a ghost town directly because a
prison was built within a 500 mile radius area. As quiet as it is kept, prisons create jobs and a booming economy where ever one is built.

We
need Police Officers because without them their would be roving gangs of thieves, rapist, and pillagers that residents would have no choice but to organize themselves into a make shift police force to protect their families and community. America's Police Officers have a very difficult job to do but arrogance of written laws, cowboying, maintaining the status quo, and abusing their authority are the things we don't need.
At this time I would like to offer my sympathy to the Late Shawn Bells family in their hour of grief and need. It is enviable Police shootings of innocent people will happen again
the cycle always repeats itself and is never palatable.
I feel one of the things that needs to be done that is not currently done now.
Is for the NYC Police Department and the NYC Board Of Education to come together to include ongoing educational classes at the 3rd or fourth grade level to teach our children early on the who, what, when, where, how and why, if a police officer confronts you, why you should obey their commands,
don't move, and the problems that could arise if commands are
not directly followed and obeyed even if they feel the officers decision is wrong in a tense situation things could get real ugly fast and out of control. What I'am saying here
has nothing to do with the SHAW BELL shooting, that is in a category all of its own. Yes I already know even
with the classes people will most likely still get shot by Police Officers but, by educating the residents doing this just opens up the avenue's of communication and understanding,
hopefully residents can better understand
what Police Officers face on a daily basics even doe most don't care what they feel and Police Officers can learn from the kids because they look at things differently than adults do generally because their minds
have not been fully polluted yet by society in general and hopefully they will be able to find a solution and be educated ahead of time before someone else gets shot dead.
I feel it would go a long way towards reducing the confusion in the community
as the kids grow older and how they should react in an uncomfortable situation when dealing with
a NYC Police Officer on a daily basics. No one has ever made a concerted effort to diffuse a potentially explosive situation between residents and our beloved NYC Police Department. It would go a long way towards educating
our community and the police. It may not solve all of our problems within the Police Department but I feel it would
definitely go a long way towards revealing to the kids how to react when a police officer identifies their self to them and shouts to them to stop running and identify their self
due to fear of being shot dead.
