The news article below echo's Sangry feelings at what the federal
government has done. I was going to write about the same issues Daily
News Reporter Mr. Albor Ruiz wrote about in his Sunday 9/28/08 Newspaper
Column. So read what he has to say and after I will add my dragon flame of
anger onto what he has already wrote.

Money for a Wall Street bailout, but not for the poor
Friday, September 26th 2008, 8:20 PM
The mad rush inWashingtonto approve a $700 billion bailout of theWall Streetfirms largely responsible for the
nation's economic crisis in the first place may sound like a very bad
joke.
Of course it isn't, and by now we all know that it is no laughing
matter. And as City Hall has already made clear, New Yorkers will have
to pay a very high price.
"We're going to have some tough times,"Mayor Bloombergsaid on Tuesday. He was referring to the
$516 million budget reduction he ordered for this fiscal year to be
followed by a $1 billion reduction for the next one. The Wall Street
crisis made these cuts unavoidable, the mayor explained.
Bloomberg is a billionaire and should have no problem personally sailing
through the troubled financial waters ahead. For his constituents,
however, that voyage is bound to be anything but smooth.
Most are working men and women (and increasingly the unemployed) who
struggle daily to make ends meet in one of the most expensive cities in
the country.
Not surprisingly, the most vulnerable New Yorkers - low-income families,
senior citizens, the poor - will bear the brunt of the cuts. The
homeless - including 7,822 families with children - will be among the
hardest hit.
Advocates and homeless activists are not taking this well, and are
asking some tough questions.
"When poor and homeless people ask the government for help, they're told
that low-income housing and living wage jobs are not a government
priority because this country is built on 'personal responsibility' and
people need to 'make better decisions,'" said a written statement by
Picture the Homeless, a nonprofit organization founded and led by
homeless people inNew York.
"[But] when giant banking corporations are on the brink of total
collapse because they have made a systematic series of bad business
decisions the government gives them a trillion dollars," the statement
continued. "Where is the 'personal responsibility' for the rich?"
That is a question that begs for an honest answer, especially after the
Wall Street debacle.
It should be noted that Mayor Bloomberg has not closed his eyes to the
plight of the thousands of New Yorkers who do not have a place to live.
CityCouncilman Bill de
Blasio(D-Brooklyn), who chairs
the Council's General Welfare committee, gives him credit for being
"gutsy" in setting the goal of reducing the homeless population 66% by
2009, as part of his five-year plan to combat homelessness announced in
2004.
"It was a bold move," he said.
But the plan has not been a success, and last Tuesday De Blasio held a
General Welfare committee hearing to review its progress.Robert Hess, the city
Commissioner of Homeless Services, was one of those who testified.
"I found a fair amount of denial from Commissioner Hess," De Blasio said
after the hearing. "I would've appreciated if he had been more
forthcoming. But there was a lot of 'happy talk' even though there is
almost no change in the number of homeless people."
At the hearing, De Blasio presented an innovative five-step plan (in
which homelessness prevention plays a big part) to help achieve the
mayor's goals. Yet, for all its merits, the future of de Blasio's plan
is in doubt due to the crisis.
"I am worried about the budget cuts," he said. "Once you have a fiscal
crisis, pro-active solutions tend to fall by the wayside."
Which brings us back to another one of those pesky questions the members
of Picture the Homeless are asking.
They would like to know how it is that there is no money for health
care, education, housing and real jobs for poor people, but there are
trillions for state-sponsored corporate bailouts and tax breaks for the
rich.
Strange how the war on poverty started
back during the 1970's, Strange how the war on Drugs started back in the
1970's too, Strange how the war on Homelessness started back
in the 1980's and none of the wars has come to a successful end in 2008. I find it offensive and demeaning to every American
Citizen that
Leman Brothers, AIG Insurance Company, Washington Mutual Saving Bank and
possible other upcoming major companies on and off wall street are
bailed out without a second thought and The Federal Government has
always been crying that it had no money to bail out our Social
Security Retirement Fund, Homelessness, The
War On Drugs Or The War On Poverty. The American tax payer has just been suckered into thinking
that by bailing out the big boys nothing else will happen and everything
will be alright. I feel all of the high ranking federal big boys like
Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson ofThe Federal Reserve, and others
managing the financial purse strings
" SHOULD BE FIRED " immediately ! When you sit in the CEO or executive " HOTT SEAT " ! Weather you were paying attention or the problem
just snuck up on you, too bad your sitting in the hot seat and your neck
is the one in the hanging noose you should be tarred, feathered and
fired from your " JOB " ! It's ridiculous to think, if a CEO that did
not build the company from the ground up like the guys on Wall Street, why
are they getting paid "
22 MILLION DOLLARS " of investors money to run a company they only
manage ?
Now I'am all for the global free business market
but, this is
ridiculous, the only one that could ever claim that kind of money while
running a global company is the man or woman that originally build the
company from the ground up, not the guy coming out of Yale's Business
School just managing someone's else's dream. The new CEO should only get the
most 5 Million Dollars and that is even alot of money but is more
palatable to swallow. I have seen so many things that go under the
heading of " IF IT AIN'T BROKE, THEN DON'T FIX IT " that no wonder
why we
have all of these problems ? This is one of the dumbest ways of operating
any business or anything else that requires attentive care. Because
sooner or later it will break due to greed and when it does go under it might start
a domino
effect and take more time to repair and even cost the US tax payer even more money in the
end. After seeing 54 year's of neglect within urban inner city budgets, I feel I'am
qualified and many other blue collar Americans over fifty have earned a College Graduate Degree at pointing out
Government wasteful spending and misrepresentation within our inner urban
cities.
Example why are the same
Federal Government Officals still onboard,
and now
trying to fix the financial problem when they were the gate keepers for
years watching the problem develope, am I making sense here. Why is it
that someone always has to die or a major catastrophe has to happen in
order for the Government to " DO THE RIGHT THING " when they could have
headed it off and totally avoided the catastrophe ahead of time when they
knew it was coming ! I do not
work for the Federal Government but I even knew over two year's ago by
reading the wall street stock market newspapers and online news columns
that the our country was headed for a major recession due to bad real estate
loans and over priced homes.
I went to a ENY Brooklyn N.Y USA home seminar back in 2006 and they were
selling homes for over three hundred thousand dollars. They were handing homes out like cookies especially when they
allowed blue collared workers that really could not afford these homes to place
$13,000.00 down on a brand new three hundred thousand dollar home. I
thought it was a bad deal right from the beginning and
instantly knew that it was a recipe for disaster especially because most
blue collar workers in the HOOD make below Fifteen Thousand Dollars a
year. Within ten year's if you
do the math you will find that the principal and the interest on the house will most
likely become a major burden on the new home owners monthly mortgage payment and remember you have
to add in payments for other goodies and must have's like. Cable TV
Bill, Cell Phone Bill, Car Note, Car Insurance Bill, New Rims for The
Car Bill, Car Auto Club Towing Bill, Monthly Car Gas Bill, Car Maintence
Bills, Monthly Home Electric Bill, Monthly Life Insurance Bill, Laundry
Bill, Food Bill, Gas To Heat Your Home and Cook Your Food Bill, New Air
Conditioner Bill, New Home Furnishings Bill, New or Used Computer Bill,
Internet Cable Bill, DVD Movie Bill, Going Out To The Diner To Eat Bill,
Credit Card/s Bills, Flood Insurance Bill, New Clothes For The Kids Bill
should I go on and " Oh Yeah " the interest acculmated from buying these
products on credit cards or from bank loans ? Now a Blind Man can plainly see that these people are
certainly headed for financial trouble in the future especially when the
new home owners have used a large amount of their credit going into
their new homes. Plus most African
and Hispanic Americans do not refinance their home mortgages to decrease
their monthly mortgage payments when interest rates drop on wall street.
I personally know a family that has never refinanced their
home since the 1960's and they are currently paying close to 32 percent
monthly interest dont ask me how it got that high, and no matter how much I explain it to them they just
say, " WE'RE OK " Daaaaaaaaa ! Non home refinancing runs ramped within our
communities due to lack of education and has remained one of the main
reasons why so many blue collar workers, lose their homes. Life has a strange way of going up and down on you like a
NYC Coney Island Roller Coaster it does not give you advanced warning notices or rings alarm bells
when its getting ready to go out of control or when you are close to going over the red line
and " GOING BROKE " ! These are just some of the unexpected things that
will sneak up on you when you do not do your home work, and you could do
all of the homework correctly and every thing right and ? Just flat out
lose your job over night and your home their after.
" SAY WHAT " !
Let's say this
blue collar person starts out with excellent credit and he/she makes
about $10.00 an hour for an eight hour day totaling $20,800.00 dollars a
year. Most blue collar workers I know today make below $15,000.00 a year
unless they were lucky enough to work for a Federal, State, or City
Government Agency, Private Company, or The NYC Board of Education ! Most
people today do not even come close to making $400.00 per week equaling
$20,800.00 a year. Now you might say that this is pretty good money for
a single person with no kids, some people would even say that salary is
completely below the poverty level but its still not enough for one person that is working
today that has one or two kids and has to pay a one - two thousand dollar a
month mortgage bill to substain a home on a long term basics.
Real Estate salespeople expect two people to pay for
a new home mortgage you and your husband or wife your son/daughter or a
tenant to off set paying for your mortgage. Now lets say you make
$20,800.00 thousand dollars a year and your wife makes an extra ? Say
$14,560.00 dollars a year meaning the two of you total about
$ 35,360.00
dollars a year.
When ever a person buys a new home they really should be
placing a down payment of about 50 % to 75 % of the homes value if
possible. But most people
today cannot afford it and America constantly pushes you to buy new cars
and homes like this because both products include every type of American industry
within them from steel, wood, rubber, glass, plastic and many other
industries just so you and others across America can keep on working and
have a job. When you buy a new house or car you
keep thousands of Americans across the country working. Most people use their new credit cards to the max
to furnish and get everything they desire going into their new home an figure they will be able to
pay it off during their life time. Problem is they forgot about the
monthly interest rate that creeps in from every credit purchase and the
interest just eats through their financial cushion over time. Anyone
that purchases a new home today should not buy a home and depend upon
their son or daughter to help pay for the house. Remember this is your
home not your kids home they just live their temporarily. They might,
say Aaa, fall in love with someone and instantly move out tomorrow
leaving you holding the bag to pay their share of the mortgage or not get
along with you and over night move out in the morning leaving you
praying and saying ? I hope, I hope my son/daughter comes back home, just so he
can help me pay the mortgage off. The part about us not getting along
together, that becomes secondary because if my son/daughter does not come
back home ? I'll BE HOMELESS " Aa-aaaaaaaaaaa " ? Moral of the story,
never rely on your son or daughter to help you pay for your home mortgage. You can
have them pay you money so you can teach them responsibility and what they will
have to do when they do move out of your house so they will know what to do
on their own when they have to pay rent for
their own apartment or home. But never should you ever rely upon their monthly
payment to realistically pay for your monthly home mortgage bill that
responsibility lies squarely upon you or you and your wife shoulders and should not be shared
by anyone else but you.
This is one of the old prime real estate pimp
the customer games that some real estate sales agents use today so they get
you to take your eye off the yearly mortgage bill and sell you a home
quickly. Another real estate
selling game is when realtors ask you to have your tenant help pay half of
the mortgage. Now this is also very dangerous because if your tenant
loses their job even if you and your wife can only afford to pay half
of the mortgage and are counting on the tenant upstairs to help pay the
other half of your mortgage you got a real problem. Plus if you have a
disagreement and your tenant stops paying you, your home is gone down the
drain. Now I'am quite sure their are some home owners that the same
principals I'am telling you now to look out for works just fine for them and
they were lucky it did. You should only gamble buying a Lottery Ticket
or on a betting game table inside of a legal casino with " DISPOSABLE MONEY " and not with the roof
over your family's head that is a big " NO, NO " !
In 1984 I passed
the test and became a
NYS Licensed Real Estate Sales Agent. I use to sell real estate and I
also sold home mortgages in the past for one of the USA's largest
home mortgage brokers in the country. So I'am fully qualified to speak about real estate
lot and home buying and
the selling of home
mortgages. First of all no two real estate or home mortgage deals are
the same everyone is different including up front and closing of the
real estate deal financing. I use to sell
Florida property for The General Development Corporation their company was the
main company that sold millions of Florida homes and property lots in
Flordia. Such as Port St.
Lucie, Silver Springs, Port Charlotte, Saint Augustine, Vero Beach, Fort
Myers, are just some of the land lots and homes we sold until they
went belly up in 1986 and out of business. I remember the
government did not bail The General Development Corporation out and I'am
glad they did not use American Taxpayers Money to do it. I also use to sell
home mortgages for one of the countries largest home mortgage brokers in the
USA Called Country Wide Home Mortgage Company back in 2000 which
went belly up and out of business in 2008 and is one of the major failed
mortgage broker businesses in the USA and why we are now in this
mess. The N.Y Long Island based Country
Wide Mortgage Company was one of the all time largest
home mortgage broker companies in the USA and were licensed to do
business in all fifty USA States. The U.S Government did not bail them
out either after they invested in risky real estate ventures and the curtain came
down and closed the show.
I
have found that many new apartment and home owners do not do their home work before
going out to buy a new apartment or home. Most do not realize that
buying a home is alot like going to school and taking a math classroom
101 course because if you do not do your math home work now ahead of
time then, you could
pay for it later by losing your home or apartment for sure ! If you plan
to move into a new home or apartment you should walk around
the neighborhood area and knock on your new neighbors doors, introduce
and talk to the people. Be patient when you introduce your self and tell
them that you were thinking about buying a new home or moving into a new
apartment within the area and
you just wanted to hear their opinion and know if their was anything
that you should know about before moving within their community.
If their are any good or bad things you should know in the community,
your new neighbors will be glad to tell you about it like ? If the area
floods, if their are drug gangs selling drugs on the corner within the community etc.
Also find out how close the bus and trains are, if their is a taxi
company near by, a grocery store and where the major shopping center
mall is are they close by etc. Do not be afraid to ask stupid
questions because by asking these stupid questions ahead of time, you
will not really feel like a fool later, compared to moving in and
finding out that your next door neighbor is a drug gang selling crack,
reefer, and dope on a 24/7 basics and their are constant drive by
shootings at lease twice a week, " LOOK OUT SWEETHEART DUCK, ITS ANOTHER
DRIVE BY SHOOTING " ! I guarantee you will not feel like a
fool later if you do your homework early and find out this type of
information ahead of time. Just imagine if you did not ask these stupid
questions and now you are stressed out daily and have to live within your new
home biting your nails everyday and live their all because you were too
scared to ask your new neighbors questions about the neighbor-HOOD ahead of
time !
I hope the federal
Government can fix our current USA economic problem but remember just because they fixed it
? Does not
mean, more new smaller problems will pop up from the same old wound that
now has a band aid patch fixed upon it ! If you are an Atheist ? and did not
believe in " God " before !
NOW IS A GOOD TIME, TO BELIEVE IN
GOD
AND, " START PRAYING " !
This is
true. Living in Florida they already know not to save bottled
water in plastic bottles after they buy it.
Leaving bottled water in your car
is extremely dangerous, especially for women !!!! This is how Sheryl
Crow got breast cancer.
She was
on theEllen
Show and said the same exact thing.
The
materials that collect within hot bottled water have been
identified as the most common cause and a major contributing
factor for the high levels obtained in breast cancer found in
woman across the globe, especially women living in Australia.
This
happens mainly because of the heat cooking the plastic bottle
especially during the spring and summer months.
But it
can also happen if you leave something in a plastic bottle
inside of your refrigerator for months too.
We
really don't know justhow long a product has
been in a plastic package when we buy it. Only thing I go by is
the "use by date" then hope and pray its valid
A friend whose mother was
recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
TheDoctor told her: women
should not drink bottled water that has been left in a hot car. The Doctor said that the heat and
the plastic mixing in the bottle have certain chemicals that are
released when heated which can lead to breast cancer.
So
please be careful and do not drink bottled water that has been
left in a hot car or anywhere else.
Please
pass this message on to all the women in your life.
This
information is the kind we need to know and be aware of because it might
just, save your life !!!!
The hot
heat causes toxins from the clear and frosted plastic bottles to leak into the
water. Doctors and Scientist have found these toxins in breast tissue to be a
major contributor of breast cancer ! Use stainless steel canteens or
glass bottles when you can !!!
Alert Everyone You Know Who Has A
Wife, Girlfriend, Daughter Or Niece because ?
Cancer News WE HAVE BEEN CIRCULATING THIS INFORMATION ON
THE WEB SINCE JUNE 2008.
TODAY SEPTEMBER 16,2008 IT JUST HIT THE MAJOR AIRWAYS AND I PERSONALLY
SAW THE NEWS REPORTER ON NY1 STATING THE SAME PROBLEMS WE WROTE ABOUT
HERE ASSOCIATED WITH PLASTIC BOTTLES.
Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters.
1. No plastic containers in microwave.
2. No water bottles in freezer.
3. No plastic wrap in microwave.
This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as
well.
Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies. Dioxin
chemicals causes cancer, especially breast cancer.
Don't freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases
dioxins from the plastic.
Recently, Dr.. Recently, Dr. Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program
Manager at Castle Hospital, was on a TV program to explain this health
hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us.
He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using
plastic containers. This especially applies to foods that contain fat.
He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases
dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body.
Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or
ceramic containers for heating food. You get the same results, only
without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and
soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in
something else. Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in the paper.
It's just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc.
He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants
moved away from the foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem is one
of the reasons.
Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as
dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the
food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt
out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food.
Cover food with a paper towel instead.

Due to the NYC Council having program funding problems we were not able
to provide our summer 2008 games. This is the first time in the 34 year
history of us sponsoring The HUDSONIC ORG SHOWSTOPPER BASKETBALL SUMMER
TOURNAMENTS that we did not have the games operating due to missing our gym
scheduled date due to The NYC Councils money problems. Their was a huge
amount of programs inside of NYC that faced the same problem we faced. Mainly because
when you schedule a gym facility and you can not provide the program service during
the time you scheduled it then ? Life goes on and another program has to be
substituted in place of your program in order to fill the allotted time
period that
you were supposed to be utilizing. We want all of the teams and coaches to
know that what happened was definitely in Gods hands and out of our control.
So look for our 2008 Winter Games we will let you know what day, time and location
our winter games will operate on. Please place your name on our
e-mail list and we will contact you when the time comes.
Thank You
