In 2008 Due to the NYC Council having program funding problems sadly we were not able to provide our summer 2008 games. This was the first time in the 34 year history of us sponsoring The HUDSONIC ORG SHOWSTOPPER BASKETBALL SUMMER TOURNAMENTS that we did not have the games operating due to missing our scheduled gym date due to The NYC Councils in fighting money problems. More and more people are jumping in to doing basketball tournaments to make fast money. But our SHOWSTOPPER BASKETBALL TOURNAMENTS were put together specifically to help educate our community on a year round bascis, that is the difference between what we do and what other basketball tournaments represent.
In 2008 their was a huge amount of not for profit programs inside of NYC that faced the same problem we faced. Mainly because when you schedule a gym facility and you can not provide the program service during the time you were scheduled for ? Life goes on and another program has to be substituted in place of your program in order to fill the allotted time period that you were supposed to be utilizing. We want all of the teams and coaches to know that what happened was definitely in Gods hands and out of our control.
August 2009 we are negotiating for a new location where ? We will have more control over the location and be able to continuously run back to back tournament games and have one monthly closing trophy award ceremony each month for all tournaments that operated during that particular month. Yes, we're combining Showstopper sports tournament ceremonies with professional cultural entertainment talent shows each month like we did when we reopened JHS 218 in ENY Brooklyn from 1991 - 1995 only this time ? It will be broadcasted on cable TV, so bear with us, that is the hold up ask anyone that lived inside of ENY Brooklyn what our shows were like and they will tell you "
