A friend of
mine the other day casually told me to watch this film
called “FOOD INC”. First of all I want you to know that I’am
not getting any money from this, you‘ve just got to see this
movie for your self it will make you stop and think dead in
your tracks about the food you are currently eating. This
film is a mind blower and, a mouth dropper, and a super
macho conversation babbler and grabber.
Most of us
“inner city people that were not born or brought up on a
farm in the country never really think about the food we buy
in our local grocery stores and the fast food restaurant
food that wine up in our stomachs. After seeing this film
you will never look casually upon the meat you eat on a
daily basics.
People that
were born on a farm, look at people like myself as “city
slicker green horns” when it comes down to killing an animal
and eating it for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Yes, I will
admit I was born inside of NYC and I guess the city slicker
part of the name in this instance comes from being that most
people that live within inner city multiple dwelling
apartment buildings and homes do not have to go out and kill
their daily meal. It is true that we do not have to get up
out of our beds get dressed and go out to shoot our meal as
it runs by or go out to the cattle yard, or chicken coop in
the backyard to slaughter a rooster or hen just to say ?
Aaaaaa now that was a good tasty meal on a daily, weekly or
whatever amount of time you wish in order to survive.
I’am not in any way trying to make fun
of this but like Arsenal Hall The TV Comedian use to
say……………………….
It’s One of Those Things That Make You Go –
Ummmmmmmmmm !
City slicker fever comes in all ethnic
colors and even if you are a Marshun from the planet called
{ { { SAY WHAT } } }
You too are a
city slicker because you live in a place where you do not
have to go out and shoot your next, meal as it runs by. A
lot of us think most animals have no intelligence. Well I
hate to burst your bubble but all living creatures have
intelligence because they know when they are hungry, when
they want sex, and they know where and how to find what they
like to eat in order to stay alive just like humans do.
Answering the questions that I just spoke of revels that
animals do have a thought process in order to survive which
means, every animal does have some level of intelligence.
There is a certain part during the film
that I just could not get out of my mind. This part stayed
on my mind for a whole week, now a person that grew up on a
farm would probably laugh at me for saying this because they
grew up watching their mother, father or relatives
slaughtering helpless animals for their next meal everyday
and have seen it so much that. It just does not faze or
bother them anymore and they have totally become immune to
it. They have grown up and now show or feelings or emotions
when it comes down to watching a helpless animal being
slaughtered right in front of their eyes. We as city
slickers walk down to the corner store, step up to the
counter and we buy our next meal compared to killing it as
it runs by. The part in the film I’am talking about is, when
you hear about the farmer stating that he prefers to raise
his chickens on a organic farm compared to processing his
chickens on a wholesale level. Make sure you look closely at
this part because there is a part in the film where you will
see how so called organically processes his chickens. Pay
extra special attention, soon you will see one of the
farmers sons individually taking each chicken out of their
cage and then cutting its neck. It is a shocking wided eyed,
mouth dropping experience for anyone to see. This is the
part pay attention because you will see a rooster chicken in
the cage awaiting his turn to be slaughtered while watching
his friend being slaughtered in front of his eyes, he shows
the same expression wided eye mouth dropping expression on
his face as I had on my face as he realizes that he is next
to be slaughtered.
To me it is one of the
parts of the film that stays in my mind and you will never
forget. As you come to realize that, the expression on the
chickens face is the same expression that a human being
would have on their face if they were next in line to be,
slaughtered! This should prove to you that chickens do have
intelligence. This is a must see film and after seeing it
you will never look at the food you eat again as a novice
city slicker. Remember the name of the film is “FOOD INC “!
When you see this film you
will realize a couple of year’s ago, why Oprah Winfre
changed her on air statement from talking negatively about
the meat industry. When the meat industry contacted Oprah,
I’am sure, when they got finished telling her that there are
hundreds of thousands of people across the country employed
within the meat industry and how would she replace those
lost jobs due to her opening her mouth ?
Oprah then realized she was in
over her head and to end it all she decided to moon walk out
backwards then to continue doing and saying the right thing.
Nobody wants to see what the meat packers do or how they do
it, city slickers in this case - meaning anyone who does
not want to go out into the backyard to capture or hide in
the bushes and shoot their own meal as it runs by. We city
slickers just want to eat and we do not care how we get it
so long as we can buy it over our local area supermarket or
grocery store counter.
Make sure you see this film,
because, after seeing this film ? You’ll never look at your
daily food, through the same closed eyes ever again.
When it comes to
this so-called
Apple tablet that everyone is expecting Steve Jobs and
company to launch next week, there are a few things you can
bet on: that it will have a sleek design, that it will do
things to wow people and that it will cost a pretty penny,
an Apple premium if you will.
I can’t help but think about
the early iPod, how it was a luxury item that took some time
to penetrate into the mainstream. The iPod, of course,
wasn’t the first mp3 player on the market, but the design
and interface of this particular player made it appealing.
Before you knew it, the iPod wasn’t just playing music. It
was playing photo slideshows and then it started playing
video and now it plays video games.
The thing about the iPod was that it grabbed mindshare
before it gained in market share. People had “heard” about
the iPod and wanted to know more about it. They wanted to
touch it and use it. And when the prices adjusted to make it
more affordable, they wanted to buy it.
Like all of you, I don’t know for sure that Apple is even
going to release a tablet of some sort next week. There have
been so many leaks that
I can’t imagine there won’t be one announced - but we could
all be wrong. I also don’t know what this tablet will look
like, though I’ve already
said that I see it as a portable household multimedia
device, kind of like a media player that sits on the coffee
table but can easily move to a bedroom or the kitchen.
Do I see people lining up for this device the way they
did for the iPhone? Maybe. But those will likely be the
early adopters, the gadget lovers who have to be the first
with the latest and greatest and are willing to pay any
premium to get it.
The more important question is: Will Apple grab mindshare
with this announcement next week?
Absolutely, it will. With this sort of news coverage,
people in the biggest cities or the smallest towns around
the globe will have to move into a cave to NOT hear about
Apple’s new gadget. Not only will there be countless blog
posts about it, but you can bet your last buck that local
newscasts in middle America will also be mentioning it on
their evening newscasts.
That’s instant mindshare. And that’s not a bad thing.
It’s actually like the iPod all over again, except that the
company gets to fast-forward immediately to the part where
everyone knows about it and wants to see one and touch one.
And if all goes right with the economics, eventually
everyone will want to buy one, too.
