MEET Sal Phipps Picture Has No Sound

I grew up with Sal Phipps inside of The N.Y.C.H.A ENY Cypress Hills Housing Projects. I personally know his Mother, Brothers and Sister. All of us grew up during the 1960's - era of pride and pitching in to do the right thing for the community, just because it was the right thing to do ! Their are very few strong brothers left inside of ENY Brooklyn that can hold their own in the mean streets, are true leaders, sensitive, and still have the frame of mind to want to give back to others so others will be able to learn from their knowledge and life experiences. Sal Phipps, better known in the community as SAL, volunteered his time as I have to help make our community grow and become a better place to live. SAL was one of the original 40 males and female community volunteer group that helped me to reopen JHS 218 after it was closed to our community for over 25 year's. In 1991 under N.Y.C.H.A Drug Elimination Program Funding, The Hudsonic Organization writing the program proposal was able to secure funding to reopen JHS 218 After School Center Program with the help of a dedicated community volunteer group. The JHS 218 After School Center Program first operated on Saturdays only back in 1991, and then expand its programming inside of JHS 218 in 1993 from Monday - Friday's 3 - 6 P.M on a daily basics. SAL played an instrumental role to help our youth empowerment program decrease area crime in our ENY area as bullets flew in the neighborhood on a daily basics within our general area. I'am happy to report " No One Was Hurt ", and " No Shootings, Stabbings, or Muggings ", occurred during operating hour's within JHS 218's facility. SAL helped to improve our ENY Cypress Hills Projects and ENY City Line Houses greatly and helped the area to become a more enjoyable and stable place to live. Their are not enough words in the dictionary to say " THANK YOU SAL " like Dinosaurs, Brothers in the community that really care like SAL, are quickly becoming ? " Extinct " !
